When Cynthia Cooper of Natural Horse World designed a bitless bridle called the LightRider, her next product idea was already forming and has just come to fruition. The LightRider Bitless Noseband is set to revolutionise the way people go bitless and its as affordable as trying a different bit. The LightRider Bitless Noseband simply attaches to the cheek pieces of your favourite bridle, just as you would a bit. The unique sliding chinstrap gives you much more precise communication – the same as a bit but without the distraction and pain bits can cause. Cynthia says “The LightRider Bitless Noseband is suitable for all horses, but especially those just being started under saddle, sensitive horses and those that have trouble accepting the bit (chewing/grinding, opening their mouth, fighting the bit)”. It is also suited for all riders, especially the disabled, those that are new to riding and may be still finding their balance and riders who want to eliminate the risk of damage to their horse’s mouths from heavy hands, falling off and stepping on the reins. Made in black or dark brown Deluxe Biothane (a synthetic leather), that is hard to tell apart from real leather and much more durable, the Bitless Noseband also allows you to lead and lunge with the bridle due to its unique connector strap that joins the noseband to the throatlatch. Available in Warmblood/Draught, full and cob size (pony size and leather style coming soon). The Special introductory price is $59 from www.naturalhorseworld.com/shopbitless.htm
A recent review of the LightRider bridle by a Canadian Horse Magazine – www.cinchmagazine.com said “The LightRider is a surprisingly effective bridle in an easy to clean, light weight package. It is one of the gentlest bitless bridle designs, but yields fantastic results. Throughout hacks, jumping and schooling, the LightRider never missed a beat. Horses responded well and rode confidently in the bridle. Through work the horses responded lightly and effectively to cues.” For more information please either email Cynthia Cooper on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
